Welcome to Sara Hosni
@manchesterorthodontics and Northenden House Orthodontics are pleased to announce Sara Hosni’s return to the practice permanently as one of our associate orthodontists. Now a Consultant working at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Glan Clwyd Hospital, we can offer private consultations on a Tuesday from 9 am until 7 pm. Dr Hosni has a wealth of orthodontic experience which extends to orthognathic work too, working alongside various local surgeons to provide the most outstanding results. Sara’s chairside manner is lovely and she is often complimented on this.
She qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Newcastle. Following a variety of hospital posts, Sara undertook her orthodontic specialist training at the University of Liverpool. She completed the Membership in Orthodontics examination at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, qualifying as a specialist in Orthodontics.
In 2015, Sara gained her Doctorate of Dental Sciences degree at Liverpool University supported by her thesis “Cervical Vertebral Maturation as a Valid Predictor of Growth”. She presented her research at the International Orthodontic Congress and was awarded the first prize in the UTG Research Awards. The British Orthodontic Society awarded Sara the prestigious Geoffrey Fletcher prize in 2016 for her research collaborations in the United States and Italy.
Sara was appointed as a Senior Registrar in Orthodontics at the University of Liverpool Dental Hospital, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Glan Clwyd Hospital. During this time she gained the Intercollegiate Speciality Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College and accreditation as a Consultant Orthodontist.
Sara is an examiner for the membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery exams at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. She also examines on the Orthodontic Therapy Diploma exam, at the Royal College of Surgeons.
As well as working as an orthodontic specialist in practice, Sara is also actively involved in the teaching and training of post-graduate orthodontic specialist trainees at Liverpool Dental Hospital.
