Orthodontic costs to be considered
If you are reading this blog then it is more than likely because you are considering having some form of brace to straighten your teeth. At Northenden House, we want you to be as fully informed as to the associated costs with orthodontic treatment, so keep reading.
You may be tempted by voucher offers or codes online, however, it is vital to remember to research before embarking on your orthodontic journey. Ensure that your treatment will be planned by a specialist orthodontist or consultant. This way you are being guided by the most knowledgeable people in the field as they will have carried out a minimum of an extra 4 years training to become a specialist orthodontist and even more so to become a consultant. Some offers may only be carried out by dentists that have done a day’s course on a specific orthodontic system.
At Northenden House, you will be treated by highly qualified members of the team that have undergone extensive training to deliver you the best smile possible. Our consultation fee of £95 includes a comprehensive treatment planning session, records of your teeth such as clinic photographs, a model or scan of your teeth depending upon which is more relevant and radiographs (subject to requirement). Your appointment will then be followed with a written treatment plan that will come out in the post to you. It is vital to take accurate records at the start of any treatment so accurate planning can be carried out and progress monitored.
Depending upon the type of treatment opted for, generally, braces start in the region of £2300 to correct slight overcrowding in a single arch. Very minor tooth movement can start from as little at £800. It is important to receive a full written treatment plan so you are fully aware of the total cost of your treatment. All fees quoted at Northenden House Orthodontics cover the cost of the appliance, the supervision throughout treatment and the provision of retainers. We will then monitor your retainers for a period of 1 year following active treatment. Should you wish to book further reviews following this, these can be made at an additional cost.
Orthodontic treatment can provide you with a beautiful smile that will last you a lifetime. Long term retention is key to ensuring no adverse tooth movement occurs. Replacement clear plastic retainers cost around £80 each. You will need to also be aware that should you have any dental work in the years following the removal of your orthodontic appliances a replacement retainer will be required as the shape of the tooth will have changed meaning that the retainer will no longer fit.
